I bought the PS3 Black Friday,from Gamestop.com. The deal was quite a bit better in my opinion. As some of you may know, the release of the ps3 in 2006 wasn’t so great. With the xbox 360 having a 1 year lead, most people owned the 360 and there were more games available. But knowing Sony it would catch up and surpass the xbox 360 and it did.

My friends all purchased a xbox 360 except for me. I watched them all get the red ring, send it in for repairs, and got the red ring again. Some gave up and just bought a new one. I looked into this more and learned that an employee leaked information that Microsoft knew about the red ring. An incredible 50% rate of failed consoles and the slims are about 15% While Sony still sits at 1-10%

Anyways here’s why you should buy a ps3 balck friday sale:

1.3D Gaming: This is a ps3 exclusive feature so far. There are articles saying that xbox can support 3D gaming, but there are no announcements of 3D games coming out. Just because it’s possible doesn’t mean it will happen.

2.Playstation Home and Free Realms: These are 2 free games that come with the ps3. PS Home is a live-action social network where you interact with other people in mini-games, dancing, and conversations through custom characters. Free realms is more of a mmmorpg (mass multiplayer online role playing game.) Where you can play minigames, do quests, and fight bosses solo or with groups. I suggest looking up more information on these two games online. Free realms is set to release sometime in February. You can test it free on PC anytime.

3.Free online gaming: Why should you pay to use the internet you already pay for? Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 connect the exact same way…peer to peer. A peer to peer connection is when a person or host is selected to be the server. Everyone in the game connects to that 1 person and plays off of their connection. So all those rumors you hear about xbox having a better connection, don’t believe it. It has everything to do with the player’s connection and nothing to do with the consoles it runs on.

4.Playstation Plus: This is an optional feature that costs $50 a year. It allows you to access many games and download content for free, beta test upcoming games, and get deals from the playstation store anywhere from 10% to 100% off.

5.Playstation Move: I won’t go into detail on why this is better than kinect, but you can find multiple comparison videos on youtube, and the move wins them all. There’s a better selection of games and that is the most important part of gaming. Is that a matter of opinion? yes, but whether or not you’re in denial, the kinect offers mostly wii-style gaming consisting of poorly designed sports games and weight-loss programs. Just buy a wii instead of kinect.

6.Blu-ray: People will say it’s not a big deal, but go watch the dark knight in 1080p then 480p and tell me it doesn’t make a difference. Blu-ray is simply gorgeous and it is the only form of high-definition DVD out. Blu-ray completely knocked HD movies off the shelf, making the xbox 360′s DVD hardware obsolete.

7.more and better exclusives: I could list a ton of awesome ps3 exclusives and a lot for the 2011 lineup. Since the 360′s release date I’ve only seen the hype of 3 xbox exclusives. Halo, Fable, and Gears of War. Many of those in the series were actually released on PC. It makes sense though…why would microsoft make a game that isn’t released for pc? They’ll just lose money. PS3 on the other hand has no alternatives, so once a ps3 black friday exclusive, always a ps3 exclusive. Unless of course microsoft wants to fork out a load of cash to a developer for making it available on the 360, but they just can’t do that to every developer.

8.DLC Sharing: This is a feature that xbox doesn’t have that can save you and your friends a load of cash. You can connect your ps3 up to 5 friends and they can all connect to each other. If you buy a call of duty map pack, your 5 friends get that pack from you for free. Split the cost and a $15 map pack will actually cost all of you $3 saving you and your friends a grand total of $60. That’s a new game. Now imagine all the money you spend on the playstation store in a year. That is a lot of money you can save. Once you remove your account from another playstation, then they can no longer use the download content. I highly suggest doing DLC sharing with friends you trust, because they do have to access your account to use your content.

9.Internet Browser: This isn’t the greatest thing, but having it is awesome…if you use it. You can watch youtube videos, go to a great number of websites, and check your email. It’s really a decent program to surf the web. It isn’t absolutely needed, but it’s a great bonus feature.

Just note that if you are using an HD TV, the console does not come with an HDMI cable so you’ll need to buy one separately. Fortunately, ps3 black friday amazon has some great deals on them instead of paying the ripoff prices brick and mortar stores charge.
